Celebrate Animation With Us!

June 3rd, 6 – 8pm @ Phillips Hall

Cal Poly Animation is hosting our annual film festival on June 3rd from 6 – 8pm at Phillips Hall (backside of the Performing Arts Center). We would love for you to join us in celebrating animation and watching student short films for free. There will also be opportunities to learn about the creative process behind each short.

  • Watch animated shorts submitted by students across the country, along with explanations of the creative process behind each film.
  • Listen to panel talks / Q&A’s from Cal Poly Animators and special guests.
  • Watch the premiere of “Beached Glass”, Cal Poly Animation Club’s short film we have been working on all year.

We hope to see you there!

For Applicants:

If you are a college-aged student (17-25) and have created an animated short film in the past year, we want to see it! It doesn’t matter what school you go to, if you don’t go to school, or what state you are located in, our film fest is open to almost everyone. This is a great networking opportunity and a perfect way to showcase your work to an attentive audience. We only ask that your short be:

  • Short! (less than 10 minutes)
  • Created in the last year (June 3rd, 2021)
  • Submitted along with a video of you explaining your work on the short (more on this in the Google form below).

If your short does not fall under these conditions, please feel free to submit anyway and we will be in contact with you!

The winner of the festival will be awarded the “Best in Fest 2022” by our special guest judge.
